Support Policy
Our policy regarding voluntary financial support for Usul Learning.
Last updated: April 2026. Usul Learning is a free Islamic education initiative. All educational content — books, articles, and resources — is provided at no charge and will remain so. This policy governs voluntary financial contributions made to support this work.
1. Nature of Contributions
Any financial contribution made to Usul Learning is entirely voluntary. It is not a payment for goods or services, and it does not entitle the contributor to any exclusive content, special access, refund, or commercial benefit of any kind. Usul Learning remains an independent initiative; contributions do not create any contractual relationship, partnership, or shareholding.
2. Who May Contribute
Indian contributors: Residents and persons based in India are welcome to contribute through the bank transfer or UPI details provided on our Support page.
International contributors — Important Notice: Usul Learning is a private individual micro-enterprise and is not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA). Under Indian law, individuals and unregistered entities may face restrictions on receiving foreign contributions that qualify as "foreign contribution" under the FCRA. If you are located outside India, we respectfully request that you refrain from making a financial contribution until we have confirmed our legal eligibility to receive foreign support. We are currently seeking legal advice on this matter. We apologise for this inconvenience and are grateful for your understanding.
3. How Contributions Are Used
All contributions received are used exclusively in service of the mission of Usul Learning:
- Funding the continued development of educational content and future volumes
- Covering operational costs of the website and publishing tools
- Supporting the expansion of free Islamic educational resources
Contributions are never used for purposes unrelated to this mission.
4. Accidental or Mistaken Transfers
If you have made a transfer in error — for example, to the wrong recipient or in the wrong amount — please contact us immediately at contact@usullearning.com with details of the transaction. We will review all such cases in good faith and endeavour to assist wherever reasonably possible, though we cannot guarantee recovery of funds transferred to a third-party payment system.
5. No Refund Policy
Because contributions are voluntary and not commercial transactions, they are generally non-refundable. If you have a specific concern about a contribution, please contact us and we will consider your situation on a case-by-case basis.
6. Transparency and Accountability
We are committed to using voluntary contributions responsibly and in a manner consistent with the mission of providing authentic, free Islamic education. We do not divert support funds for personal enrichment or purposes unrelated to this mission.
7. Tax and Legal Classification
Usul Learning is registered as a Micro Enterprise in India (Udyam Registration No: UDYAM-KL-05-0038423). It is not a registered charitable trust, NGO, or non-profit under the Income Tax Act, 1961 or any other statute. Accordingly:
- Contributions are not tax-deductible under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act or any equivalent provision
- Contributions are not eligible for CSR classification under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013
- Contributors are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the tax implications of their contribution in their own jurisdiction
8. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this policy at any time, including to reflect changes in our legal status or applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
